I had to drag her there cause she hates folk music and honestly I had heard your name but didnt know your music. Thank you so much for your music, Elaine. I stumbled upon "Burning Times" on Napster back in February or March this year, and... well... it was beautiful, and so sad. It was what opened my eyes to the witchburnings, that I before knew very little about. Now, I've got many more songs, and I download all I can come across, basically. I just hope I somehow can get hold of your albums in original, and not on MP3, but since I live in Sweden, that might proove very difficult, unfortunately. Do you write the music/lyrics yourself, by the way? I'm just being curious, and not one of those "ah s/he is crap, s/he doesn't write their own music!"... ;) Are you a Pagan yourself, because well... those lyrics surely are, and I love them! :)

At that same festival, I remember standing in front of the stage seeing Elaine Silver singing. We bought a casette tape and afterwards I went up to go meet Elaine and get her autograph. I still have that autograph. Anyway, we since did away with our casette player and I completely forgot about that tape. For many of my teen years I had veered away from folk music. But now it's probably one of my favorite genres of music and a few weeks ago when I was at the Kate Wolf Memorial Music festival...and I was suddenly like, "Oh my god, what happened to Elaine Silver?" I think you mentioned at the First Night Morris Show that you grew up in Whippany, NJ and went to Hanover Park High School. Whippany Park High School started in 1967.
