Paint/Inkwork on Swordfish Bills

Swordfish Bills are the bone otherwise known as the fish’s nose.
It is a bone, not ivory, which will not allow you to actually do scrimshaw work as it will let the ink bleed into parts of the bill that have not been etched.
The raw fish remnants take about 8 weeks to clean so as to be compatible with you & your home. At this point, I then sand & polish them to a sheen or smooth surface which allows me to do acrylic & or ink work on them. After the art work is completed,
I put a clear coat covering over the work to protect it
& then when possible,
Mount these on appropriate backing boards. They can be purchased just cleaned & polished or with art work,
or mounted or not.
Also they can be turned into decorative swords for your swashbuckling fun.
